Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is not after gifts for her birthday this year and is instead asking for donations to her chosen charity that serves children with cleft conditions.

The beauty queen and children’s rights advocate who is turning a year older on Friday, Jan. 6, chose to celebrate her birthday this year by raising funds for the nonprofit Smile Train Philippines, which offers free surgeries for children with cleft lip and cleft palate, as seen on her Instagram page yesterday, Jan. 3.

“My birthday is coming up and once again, I want to encourage my friends and supporters to share their blessings not in the form of gifts but in the form of donations. Specifically in giving Filipino children the opportunity to smile,” she said. “Once again, this year, I’ll be fund raising to support Smile Train Philippines who offers free and comprehensive cleft care and treatment. Because every child deserves to live a happy, healthy life.”

Gray’s fundraiser, which seeks to raise P300,000, has reached 6% of its goal (P18,100) as of this writing, based on its official GoGetFunding page.

“Any amount, small or big will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time and may God Bless you!” Gray stated through the page.

This is not the first time Gray held a fundraiser for her birthday. Back in 2021, she raised P128,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, while she raised P388,200, also for Smile Train Philippines, in 2020.  /ra
