Nadine Lustre’s non-showbiz boyfriend, Filipino-French entrepreneur Christophe Bariou, expressed his support for his partner after winning Best Actress at the 48th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Lustre bagged the coveted award for her role as Lyra in the psychological horror film “Deleter,” beating fellow nominees Toni Gonzaga of “My Teacher,” Ivana Alawi of “Partners in Crime” and Heaven Peralejo of “Nanahimik ang Gabi.” The thriller bagged a total of seven awards including Best Picture and Best Director.
Bariou shared a photo of Lustre holding her Best Actress trophy at the MMFF awards night on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday.
“Never doubted her,” he wrote.

During her acceptance speech for Best Actress, the “Deleter” star thanked Bariou, as well as her family and friends.
“Ito pong award na ‘to, dinededicate ko po sa pamilya ko, sa mga kaibigan ko na patuloy na sumusuporta sa akin, sa boyfriend ko pong si Chris, and of course, ang Viva family ko, and sa team “Deleter.” Sobrang saya po namin ngayon, hindi po namin ineexpect ‘to and masayang-masaya po kaming lahat na nagbabalik na po ang mga pelikulang Pilipino sa sinehan,” Lustre said.
(This award is dedicated to my family, my friends who are always supportive of me, my boyfriend Chris, and, of course, my Viva family and Team “Deleter.” We’re very happy, we didn’t expect to win this award, and we’re very happy that Filipino films have returned to cinemas.)
Prior to being open about her relationship with Bariou, the couple had been spotted in various locations including a feeding program in Siargao and the snowy Alps in France. The actress finally went Instagram official with the entrepreneur, as they went cozy on social media in January 2022.
Lustre revealed at an interview that she first met Bariou, who owns the Maison Bukana resort in Siargao, during her vacation with some mutual friends in the island in 2021. /ra
