“This year, I would define my holidays as preparation, rest, and quality time days. Preparation days because I am making the most out of my waiting time to rest, train and prepare myself both physically and mentally for my projects next year.

“Rest days because these are actually the longest free days I’ve had the whole year. I am such a workaholic so rest is very rare for me but knowing what I have ahead for me next year, I am making the most out of these free days to relax, regain strength, and refresh my mind before going back to the working grind again.

“Quality time days because since these are the only days I’ve had after a long year and the only days I have left before year 2023 starts, I choose to spend my time with people I love like my family and friends, and my dogs. I have missed them and will definitely miss them when I go back to work so I am making the most out of my time with them. Less screen time, more family time.

“I’ll be spending it with my mom kaya pinaghandaan na namin ang Noche Buena. And the next day, Christmas Day, baka i-treat ko siya sa favorite naming restaurant together with some friends. May mga naka-plan na rin ako for New Year, maghahanda lang ako and invite friends para chill-chill lang dito sa house.”

(I’ll be spending [Christmas eve] with my mom and we have prepared for our Noche Buena. The next day, Christmas Day, maybe I will treat her to our favorite restaurant together with some friends. I also already have plans for New Year. I will prepare foods and invite friends over so we can just chill in my house.)

“My family and I are planning to spend Christmas 2022 in Tagaytay from the 25th to the 27th! We usually go out of the country but this year we wanted to go somewhere local instead since we just flew out for a vacation recently. No matter what naman, wherever we spend the holidays, the most important thing is that we spend time together!”

“Family tradition na kasi ‘yung lagi kami nag-Christmas party sa bahay ng Pangilinan and Solinap family sa mother side ko. Nandyan ‘yung ibang family namin from Iloilo na pumupunta ng Manila every Christmas and New Year. Ten straight years na namin itong ginagawa so pag hindi kami do’n mag-celebrate, parang ‘di ko talaga mafi-feel yung love at saya ng Christmas.”

(It has been our family’s tradition to hold a Christmas party with our relatives from my mother’s side — Pangilinan-Solinap family. Our family members from Iloilo, who travel to Manila every Christmas and New Year, will also be there. We have been doing this for 10 years so if we would not celebrate Christmas the same way, I feel like I would not feel the love and joy of the occasion.)
