Martin Nievera and KZ Tandingan will be included in the roster of coaches of “The Voice Kids” season 5, replacing Lea Salonga and Sarah Geronimo who served as mentors in the previous season.

Nievera and Tandingan’s participation in the reality singing competition was announced through a trailer of upcoming ABS-CBN shows in 2023, released on its YouTube channel on Monday, Dec. 19.

The teaser opens with “OG coach” Bamboo who has been a resident judge in all four seasons of the show including the adults edition. The premiere date for the show has yet to be announced as of this writing.

“Muling maririnig ang boses ng batang Pinoy (The voices of Filipino kids will be heard once again) with the OG coach Bamboo. Let’s welcome the new coaches: KZ Tandingan and Martin Nievera!” it said.

This season would mark the first time Salonga would not be included in the show’s roster of coaches. Meanwhile, Geronimo served as one of the mentors during the show’s first, second and fourth seasons. Megastar Sharon Cuneta also joined the reality competition as coach on its third season.

“The Voice Kids”  has produced several singing champions, namely Elha Nympha, Lyca Gairanod, Joshua Oliveros and Vanjoss Bayaban. Other singers who emerged from the reality singing competition were Darren Espanto, Juan Karlos Labajo and Kyle Echarri, among others. EDV
