Vilma Santos bares her shades collection to fans
Veteran actress Vilma Santos bared her collection of shades in her latest YouTube vlog episode, titled “50+ SHADES OF ATE VI” last Dec. 11.
“Gusto ko lang po sanang mag- share sa inyo ng isa sa mga masasabi kong talagang hilig ko. Ise-share ko lang sa inyo ngayon,” she said. (I just want to share with you one of my passions. I will share it with you today).
“Mahilig po ako talaga sa salamin at tsaka pabango. Every time I travel, lagi po, hindi mawawala ang dalawang bagay, pabango at salamin,” she added. (I am really fond of shades and perfumes. Every time I travel, I can’t miss two things–perfumes and shades.)
According to Santos, not all from her collection are expensive as she also has cheap ones. And not all in her collection have been worn by her.
“’Yung iba dito luma na. Yung iba dito mga signature. ‘Yung iba naman po ay mura lang kasi basta nagustuhan ko lang,” she said. (Others here are old. Some others are signature. Some are cheap because I just liked them.)
Article continues after this advertisementThe first shades Santos showed were Dior and Prada. She also has one from Tiffany & Co. which she was not able to use after she bought it six years ago. Ditto with an unused Louis Vuitton which she bought six years ago. She also showed overused Bulgari, Channel, Ray Ban and cat-eyed sunglasses from Miu Miu.
Santos likewise showed a cheap pair of shades which she got for only $5, or about P250.
Another pair she showed was one she bought online. It has glitters and she simply enjoyed it.
Of course, Santos showed shades which were memorable to her. One is a velvet Ray Ban, a gift to her by her husband Ralph Recto.
Another is Gentle Monster shades which she saw from her daughter-in-law Jessy Mendiola’s collection.
“Meron siyang kulay pink. Sabi ko, ‘Jess, gusto ko yan.’ So, ibinili niya ako,” she said. (She has one that’s color pink. I said, ‘Jess, I like that.’ So, she bought me one.)
Santos also showed a pair of eyeglasses that she wore during the shooting of her movie “Everything about Her,” opposite Angel Locsin.
Likewise, she also shared a pair of eyeglasses that was reminiscent of Elvis Presley’s era.
Among those she also showed were her light shades she used during the election campaigns.
“I love shades and glasses. Obvious ba?” she said, promising to share next her collection of perfumes. /ra
