Sadie Sink has admitted she told a little white lie that might have helped her land her role as Max in the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things.”

The 20-year-old actress recalled the audition process she went through for the role when she was interviewed by host Jimmy Kimmel for “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” as seen on the show’s YouTube channel yesterday, Dec. 7.

“I joined the show in season two and I was a fan of season one before. It’s all of my friends were watching and everything. I was in the audition process for Max and I think I had done four callbacks, did the screen test and then I found out that I got the role,” she told Kimmel.

Sink recounted that the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, called her when she was at a “speech and debate practice” to let her know she got the part. They then wasted no time in getting her ready to play Max as they sent her a skateboard and safety gear the following day.

“They sent a skateboard to my house the next day and I had to learn how to do that,” she said. “I had no idea how to do it and I really didn’t like it because the first day I took a pretty hard fall and it just set a bad tone for the entire journey.”

When asked by Kimmel if she ever lied about being able to ride the skateboard, Sink admitted she did lie about something else.

“I said I had rollerblading experience, which is just a lie. And the two don’t go hand-in-hand, so I don’t know why I thought that would mean anything,” she confessed, laughing.

Despite this little white lie, Sink is fortunately still part of “Stranger Things,” which dropped the final episodes of its fourth season earlier this year.

The most recent season of the show pushed total viewership for the series to more than 1.15 billion hours and has become the most popular English-language series on Netflix.  /ra
