BB Gandanghari was elated to have finally reunited with her mother Eva Cariño and returned to the Philippines after seven years.
The transgender actress, born as actor Rustom Padilla prior to transitioning to a woman, gave a glimpse of her flight back to the Philippines in her Instagram post yesterday, Dec. 6.
“[Just landed]: Happiest to see my dearest mama in 7 years… Yes, it was that long ago. How time flies,” she said.
BB Gandanghari first teased her arrival at the Philippines through a video of herself at an airport on her Instagram page last Monday, Dec. 5.
“#SeeYouSoon: long time coming…,” she said, along with the words “home is where your heart is” bannered on her video.
This reunion has been a long time coming for the mother and daughter. It can be recalled that during late actor Royette Padilla’s wake last year, BB Gandanghari broke down in tears when her mother told her, “Uwi ka na (Come home).”
BB Gandanghari moved to Los Angeles to chase her Hollywood dream, which she confessed has been “challenging.” The actress officially became an American citizen earlier this year. /ra
