BB Gandanghari pays tribute to Carmina Villarroel’s dad: ‘I’ve looked up to him from afar’
BB Gandanghari offered her condolences to ex-wife Carmina Villarroel and described the actress’ recently departed father Regy Villarroel as the “coolest person she has ever met.”
BB Gandanghari, born as Rustom Padilla prior to transitioning to become a woman, extended her sympathy to Carmina’s bereaved family, via a comment on the latter’s Instagram page yesterday, June 15. Carmina’s father passed away earlier this month at the age of 89.
“I’m so sorry to hear… My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to you and your family,” the transgender actress said.
BB Gandanghari also expressed her admiration to Daddy Regy and how she is honored to have known him, to which Carmina responded and thanked her.
“Daddy Regy is one of the most respectable, kindest and coolest person I have ever met. I feel privileged and pleased to have come to know your Dad that I’ve looked up to him from afar,” she added. “I share with your grief at this time of bereavement.”

BB Gandanghari and Carmina were married in 1994 and separated in 1997. The annulment of their marriage was granted in 2002. In 2020, BB Gandanghari opened up about her relationship with Carmina and stated that they are “very civil and cordial” with each other.
Meanwhile, Carmina has been married to fellow actor Zoren Legaspi whom she has two children with, twins Cassy and Mavy. JB
