Of late, actress Lovi Poe has been getting out of her comfort zone in terms of character playing – as Luna, a girl suffering from a rare sleep disorder in “Sleep With Me” and as Iris, a detective in “Flower of Evil”. But given a chance, she’s willing to return to roles she used to play.

“It’s always nice to step out of your comfort zone kasi you do something new. You do a different character and you discover something new about yourself,” Poe initially said during her solo conference for “Flower of Evil” on Friday, November 18.

However, the actress admits to missing roles she was most comfortable with, as “there’s always something nice about the familiar.”

“It’s like your heart looks for that sometimes. It’s like if I were to do a romantic comedy or drama that I’m used to doing, I would always say yes to it because, you know, your heart always love the familiar,” she explained.

“It’s nice to take a step back and get back to my comfortable level. So, yes, I would like to mix it up. And since I always do something new, and I step out of my comfort zone, since ang tagal ko nang hindi bumabalik doon (It’s been a long time that I have returned to doing those), that for me is feeling as if that is brand new,” she added.

“Flower of Evil” follows the seemingly perfect life of husband and wife — Jacob and Iris (Piolo and Lovi), together with their young daughter Luna (Sienna Stevens). Jacob is a metal craftsman who owns and operates his own workshop, while Iris is a well-respected police detective.

Unknown to Iris, Jacob is hiding his dark, scandalous past from her. All these years, Jacob has been living a double life after he successfully changed his identity from Daniel Villareal to Jacob del Rosario.

Daniel was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder, and was wanted by the police for murder. He is also the only son of Abel (Gardo Versoza), a known serial killer who committed suicide.

The series first aired on Viu last June, but now airs weeknights on the Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, and TV5. EDV
