Kathryn Bernardo expressed admiration for veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, who plays Lolo Sir in “2 Good 2 Be True,” as the series recently came to an end.

The actress admitted she considers working with Valdez as an answered prayer in an Instagram post she dedicated to him today, Nov. 15. Bernardo also showed Valdez in behind-the-scenes moments of the series, as well as both of them in tears while bidding farewell to each other.

“My dearest lolo sir, I don’t know where to begin… but maybe let’s start with a fun fact? I’ve been your greatest fan since ‘Cedie’ and ‘Munting Paraiso,'” she told Valdez. “Whenever people asked me, ‘Sino dream mo makatrabaho?’ my immediate answer would be ‘Mr. Ronaldo Valdez.'”

“Fast forward to 2021, it seemed like God answered my prayer because you agreed to do this project with us. You probably have no idea how much it meant to me and how excited I was,” Bernardo added.

Bernardo recalled feeling nervous in her first scene with Valdez, saying she tried to make small talks and get to know him with the everyday taping cycle they had together. She also noted their shared love for food, particularly sweets, and them having the tendency to cry often.

“God knows how much I enjoyed doing every scene with such [a] brilliant and genuine actor like you, Tito Ron,” she said.

Bernardo then talked about an instance in which Valdez guided her through a scene and helped her deliver the “right emotions.”

“Ali wouldn’t be effective without Lolo Sir. I wouldn’t have been able to do every single scene if not for your support,” she told Valdez.

Bernardo also expressed appreciation for the “random talks” she had with Valdez and the trust he gave her during their time working together.

“You showed us who you really are behind the ‘veteran actor’ people know you as, and we just loved you even more,” she said, calling Valdez her “favorite person” and the “lolo (grandfather) I never had.”

“The memories we shared for a year will always be in my heart. You know that I will always be here for you, right?… I will always protect you and check on you [because we always want what’s best for you]. Seeing you happy makes us all happy,” Bernardo added. “…Alipot and Kath are both lucky to have experienced this with you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Tito Ron. You are the lolo I never had.”

“2 Good 2 Be True” aired its final episode last Friday, Nov. 11. It starred Bernardo as nurse Ali, alongside Daniel Padilla’s Eloy.

Bernardo had been open about her admiration for Valdez since production for the series started last year. At the time, she described working with the veteran actor a “highlight” of her 2021.  /ra
