Feeling a little pressured, it’s a dream come true for It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu to be hosting a reality-based TV show, “Dream Maker”.

“Siyempre po ang pressure nandodoon. Nandoon ang kaba. Hindi naman puwedeng mawala iyon,” Chiu said during the show’s official launching yesterday, November 9. (Of course, the pressure is there. There is nervousness. It cannot be helped.)

The pressure, it seems, is brought about by her bashers being doubtful if she could pull off a full-time hosting job.

“Iniisip ko, ano kaya ang sasabihin ng ibang tao. Magho-host ako ng isang show. Alam mo naman, ‘yung ibang tao diyan, parang nagdududa sila. Pero hindi naman nila mapapatunayan kung hindi naman nila napapanood. Kung hindi pa po ako nabigyan ng ganitong chance, hindi ko rin malalaman kung saan ako aabot or kaya ko ba talaga,” she said. (I was thinking, what will people say. I am hosting a show. You know, there are people out there, they’re like doubting. But it cannot be proven if they will not see it. If I wasn’t given this chance, I will not know until where I can reach or if I really can.)

Unlike in “It’s Showtime” where she gets to co-host with seasoned emcees, this time, Chiu is all alone.

“Sobrang iba po. Aside from ako lang ang mag-isang nakatayo sa gitna, si Ryan Bang kasi kasama niya ‘yung mga mentors. First time ko na mabigyan ng opportunity for the longest time na akong mag-isa ang magho-host para sa “Dream Maker” and I’m very grateful and I’m honored to be part of the show. Sobrang malaking bagay ito para sa akin, para sa career ko kaya I’m so happy and thankful,” she said.

(It’s really different. Aside from I am the only one standing in the nmiddle, Ryan Bang is with the mentors. It’s the first time that I was given the opportunity to host solely for “Dream Maker” and I’m very grateful and honored to be part of the show. It’s really great for me, for my career so I am happy and thankful.)
