Vice Ganda gave a glimpse of his and Ion Perez’s fourth anniversary celebration in Tiaong, Quezon, where the comedian gifted the latter a diamond ring for the occasion.
The “It’s Showtime” hosts documented the intimate celebration held last month which was attended by their family and friends, as seen in a vlog on Vice Ganda’s YouTube channel on Monday, Nov. 7.
During the event, Vice Ganda spoke about his love for Perez and how both of them are assured and secured in their relationship. The comedian also considers Perez as his “constant source of strength and happiness.”
“Siya ‘yung kapayapaan ko sa panahon ng kangaragan, sa panahon ng kai-stressan. Just like recently, ang dami kong fragile moments and Ion was trying to be very strong for me,” Vice Ganda said.
(He is my peace amid stressful and chaotic days. Just like recently, I had several fragile moments and Ion was trying to be very strong for me.)
“‘Yun ‘yung pinakamalaking regalo sa akin ng Diyos — bukod sa pamilya ko at malalapit kong kaibigan – may isang sandigan ako ng lakas na binigay niya sa akin para hindi ako manghina sa mga pagkakataon ng ngarag,” he added.
(That is the biggest gift I got from God — aside from my family and close friends — I have someone I can lean on to give me strength so I can power through amid the chaos.)
Vice Ganda then gave the diamond ring to Perez, vowing to always be with him no matter what happens. Vice Ganda also stated that the ring was his way to make it up to Perez for all the special occasions the comedian missed due to his busy schedule.
“Gusto kong magbigay ng ganito sa’yo to remind you everyday ‘yung mga masayang moments na ipinaramdam mo sa akin nung sinuot mo [‘yung singsing] sa kamay ko,” Vice Ganda said, recounting Perez’s marriage proposal to him. “Araw-araw nararamdaman ko ‘yon at gusto ko araw-araw maramdaman mo rin yon.”
(I want to give this to you to remind you everyday of the joyful moments you made me feel when you put a ring on my finger. I feel joy everyday and I want you to experience it as well.)
“This is a reminder of my love for you, my gratefulness to you, basta lahat (everything). This is to remind you of me — of you and me,” he told Perez.
Vice Ganda and Perez have been dating for a year before they confirmed their relationship in 2019. The couple then got engaged in 2020, and had a wedding commitment ceremony in Las Vegas in October 2021.
In August, their relationship was hounded with breakup speculations but the “It’s Showtime” hosts eventually dismissed these, stating that they only spent time apart at the time to keep the “balance” in their relationship. EDV
