Maxene Magalona talks about ‘7 ways to move on’ after revealing breakup
Maxene Magalona opened up on the seven ways she moves on from a breakup, days after confirming her separation from her husband Rob Mananquil.
The actress talked about her process in moving on while showing herself in her Vera Wang wedding gown, via her Instagram page yesterday, Oct. 17.
For Magalona, there are seven ways to move on: grieving, praying, surrendering one’s self to the present, being grateful, understanding one’s ex, focusing on one’s self and letting go.
“Grieving is an integral part of the process. You cannot move on without properly grieving a loss,” she explained the first.
When it comes to praying, Magalona believes that people should do it “constantly, sincerely and wholeheartedly,” not just for their self but for their exes as well.

Magalona also reminded the public to understand that their exes are “just like [them].”
“Their traumas, pain and suffering are just the same as yours. Try to see them this way instead of a person that you ‘own’ or ‘control’ just because you were in a relationship together,” she added.
Given this, Magalona stressed the importance of focusing on personal growth while moving forward with “lightness in your heart.”
“Connect to yourself on a deeper level through meditation. Find God within,” she told fans.

Magalona revealed her breakup with Mananquil last Friday, Oct. 14, by talking about the perks of being “single and childless.” However, speculations about the pair’s separation have been around as early as last January, when the actress talked about having a “sad soul.”
Despite the split, Magalona still appeared to be close to her in-laws as she spent time with them on New Year’s Eve. She also expressed gratitude to Mananquil’s mother last January for helping her fulfill her dream of wearing a Vera Wang gown on her wedding. /ra
