Another court orders arrest of Vhong Navarro

MANILA, Philippines — Another arrest warrant has been issued against actor and TV host Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro, this time on the rape case filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
Atty. Alma Mallonga, counsel for Navarro, said the camp of Navarro has yet to receive a copy of the court’s resolution. But once received, she said their next action would be to seek a reconsideration “because we know that this case has no basis with due respect to the court.”
“We will continue to do everything that is available under the law and under equity and justice to give Vhong what is due to him, a recognition that he is the victim of a crime,” Mallonga said.
Navarro is currently at the NBI. Rape is a nonbailable offense.
