Alodia Gosiengfiao admitted that she initially planned on keeping secret her breakup with ex-boyfriend and fellow vlogger Wil Dasovich to avoid the drama.
The cosplayer-vlogger recounted their split after she was asked by celebrity doctor Vicki Belo when it happened, as seen in a vlog on the latter’s YouTube channel last Friday, Sept. 9.
“[The breakup] was last year but the announcement came later kasi (because) I wanted to keep it under wraps,” Gosiengfiao answered. “I mean, as much as possible I don’t want any noise. I don’t want drama, to be honest.”
“But eventually, people kept on asking what had happened. I was flying to L.A. that time and everyone in the airport was asking where was my [ex-boyfriend],” she continued. “It was hard for me to lie so eventually I had to post online so that people [would] know.”
Gosiengfiao admitted she is aware that the split confirmation, which came about a month after their actual breakup, immediately caused fuss among the public, and even gained more attention after her “Ako pala sinayang mo” (I’m the one you wasted, by the way) remark last January.
Gosiengfiao then spoke about how she decided to say yes to getting engaged to non-showbiz fiancé, businessman Christopher Quimbo, amid only months of dating each other. Gosiengfiao stated that Quimbo, who also joined her at the latter part of the interview, makes her feel safe as he understands her “real personality.”
“We were both talking about it because we’re both futurists as well,” she said, referring to Quimbo. “When we talked about that, it was mostly very positive, happy thoughts. Parang (It was as if) I’m not scared [if] ever things grow deeper.”
Gosiengfiao announced her split with Dasovich in November last year, and got engaged with Quimbo in July. Meanwhile, Gosiengfiao earlier addressed her “past relationship” and dropped a cryptic message, seemingly implying that her partner at the time cheated and slept with other women. JB
