Sandara Park is in isolation after she contracted the novel coronavirus, but she assured fans that she is getting better as she only experienced severe symptoms on her first day.

The K-pop star’s bout with the disease was made public by Korean news outlet YTN, adding that the number of severe cases in their country has been increasing, as per a report published yesterday, Aug. 24.

Singer Sandara Park has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19),” the report read in English translation. “In response, Sandara Park suspended her schedule and is concentrating on self-quarantine and treatment at home in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.”

Park later confirmed her diagnosis through her Twitter page, while expressing regret over the prior commitments she had to delay due to her condition.

I was resting quietly and recovering, but the article went out,” Park said in Korean. “I’m so sorry that all of this week’s schedule was delayed.”

Don’t worry guys, I was a little sick with body aches [and] chills only on the first day, now only my neck hurts. Voice has become strange.. it will recover!” she added. “I have to take medicine, so I have to eat all three meals a day, so I eat better than usual.”

Park first gained fame in the Philippines as a “Star Circle Quest” talent and was affectionately dubbed as “Pambansang Krung-krung.” She returned to the Philippines last month and performed on stage with GOT7’s BamBam during the “K-Pop Masterz in Manila” concert. JB
