WATCH: Iza Calzado flies as first Darna in TV series’ pilot episode; fans rave

Iza Calzado did not disappoint fans as she earned admiration for her portrayal of first Darna in the pilot episode of “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.”
Calzado’s character, Leonor, transformed into the iconic superhero after an extraterrestrial enemy attacked Earth, as seen in the first episode of the show on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel yesterday, Aug. 15.
Calzado wore a red and gold one-piece suit paired with the Darna helmet as she flew and fought the enemy. After defeating her opponent, Calzado’s identity was revealed to her daughter Narda (Jane de Leon) who saw Calzado return from being Darna to Leonor.
Fans could not help but rave about Calzado via Twitter yesterday, complimenting the actress for her impressive portrayal.
