Ruffa Gutierrez has denied that she kicked out two of her house helpers without paying their salaries following an incident in her home. She said her lawyers were “on top of the situation.”

This comes after P3PWD Rep. Rowena Guanzon talked about a friend who had to “rescue two household helpers who were thrown out of a first class village by their employers without paying their salaries,” as stated on her Twitter page last Thursday, July 7.

Guanzon did not name a specific individual at the time, but yesterday, July 8, she asked Gutierrez via Twitter, “Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez is [this] true?” while quoting her earlier tweet. The actress replied also via Twitter on the same day, clarifying that what Guanzon had narrated was “not true.”

“No it’s not true. There was a situation at home while I was shooting on the set of ‘Maid In Malacañang,’ so my staff had to call security to make sure my children were safe,” she told Guanzon.

Gutierrez said that her two new house helpers were getting in a fight with their 68-year-old colleague and other workers in her home while she was shooting a movie with Cesar Montano, Diego Loyzaga, Cristine Reyes and Ella Cruz.

She stressed that she did not fire her house helpers as they wanted to leave “on their own accord.”

“They were demanding to leave the house, which I said they were able to do after I returned home from work, so I could talk to them before they leave,” she added.

“I’m always very generous with those I love and those that work for me kaya (so) most of our helpers have been with me for [13 to 35 years],” Gutierrez said.  “My lawyers are on top of the situation.”

Guanzon has yet to reply to Gutierrez, and both of them have yet to give further explanation on the incident involving the house helpers as of this writing.  /ra
