‘Magka-ibigan na ngayo’y magkaibigan’: Juan Karlos Labajo, Maureen Wroblewitz break up
Juan Karlos Labajo and Maureen Wroblewitz have announced their split today, June 10, with Labajo promising that the model-turned-beauty queen would still be his “Buwan.”
The singer revealed his breakup with the beauty queen while showing himself and Wroblewitz in a cozy hug, via his Instagram page today, June 10.
“Magka-ibigan na ngayo’y matalik na magkaibigan. Lagi mong tandaan na kahit pagbaliktarin mo man ang mundo, kahit saang lupalop man ng kalawakan, ikaw pa rin ang nagiisa kong buwan,” he told her. “Maraming salamat, mahal kita at hanggang sa muli.”
(Lovers who are now best friends. Always remember that even if you turn the word upside down, wherever in the universe, you are still my one and only moon. Thank you very much, I love you and until we meet again.)
Labajo was referencing his 2018 hit song “Buwan,” which featured Wroblewitz as his love interest in its music video.

For her part, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 first runner-up did not explicitly address her breakup with Labajo but posted the quote, “Life is not happening to you. Life is happening for you,” via her Instagram page, also today.
“Some things come to an end and that’s okay. But now it’s time for us to grow on our own,” she said.

Labajo then expressed his appreciation of Wroblewitz and looked forward to both of them achieving their dreams.
“I am the luckiest person in the world to have spent the past years of my life with you and I wouldn’t choose anybody else to have [spent] those years with. You’ve taught me so much and I have learned, I am learning and I will learn more,” he replied to her. “We are both so young and we have to enjoy ourselves.”
“I want to see you succeed. I love seeing you achieve your dreams. You will. We will. Here’s to growth and love for ourselves. For there is no greater love than self-love,” he added, along with the German translation of “Thank you, I love you and goodbye.”
Wroblewitz answered Labajo, “Thank you for everything.”
Labajo and Wroblewitz reportedly started dating in early 2017, though they only went public about their relationship in 2019. /ra
