Herlene Budol, also known as “Hipon Girl,” expressed her grief over the death of her grandmother Nanay Bireng, who passed away due to kidney failure.
The comedian and Binibining Pilipinas candidate held the hand of her grandmother who was lying in a hospital bed, as seen on Budol’s Instagram page today, June 6.
(This post was so hard for me to write. My grandmother, who I love dearly, has passed away this morning, 9 a.m. 6-6-22. I am going to miss you so much.)
Budol disclosed that aside from kidney failure, Nanay Bireng suffered from other illnesses which include high blood pressure, diabetes and pneumonia. Budol then lamented that her grandmother’s promise of attending the Binibining Pilipinas’ coronation night would no longer be fulfilled.
(She is a special woman and her death is grieved by a lot of people [because] she lived a full life. In her last month, she bravely fought to stay alive despite pain and kidney failure. What pains me most is seeing her suffer in her last moments.)
Budol received prayers and condolences from fans, and was comforted by GMA artists Faith Da Silva and Arny Ross. JB
