Herlene Budol, also known as “Hipon Girl,” stunned fans as she wore a P150,000-worth Filipiniana gown for the Binibining Pilipinas Grand Santacruzan 2022.
The comedian and former “Wowowin” host donned a pink mermaid gown embellished with blue pearls and gold details, paired with a huge gold-rays headdress, as seen on Binibining Pilipinas’ Facebook page yesterday, May 14. The ensemble was a creation of Geronie Labora, a fashion designer from Zamboanga City.
Budol showed snaps of herself from before and during the event, expressing her excitement as well as gratitude to her manager Wilbert Tolentino, her friend Madam Inutz, and her glam team, as per her Instagram page, also yesterday.
“Mga Hiponatics, eto yung na assign kay Hipon girl niyo sa Binibining Pilipinas, Pamayanan Guadalupe para sa Flores de Mayo. Ginastusan etong creation na sobrang detalyado sa halagang 150,000 php,” she said.

Budol is among the 40 candidates who will be competing for the four titles of this year’s pageant: Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas Globe and Bb. Pilipinas Grand International. She stated that she will be advocating autism awareness and detection during her stint in the pageant. JB
