Aubrey Miles gave an update on the progress of Rocket, her daughter diagnosed with autism, and said that the kid is now calling her “Mama.”
The actress spoke about how Rocket serves as her purpose in life, as per Miles’ Instagram page yesterday, May 24. Miles also showed her daughter enjoying their trip to Boracay.
“This little person here gave us a whole different meaning to life—what’s more important and what truly matters,” she said. “Bringing her to places to show and teach her how the world works.”
Miles said that she believes Rocket will be able to remember her childhood experiences when she grows up, despite people saying otherwise. Miles then listed down the things her daughter is now able to do.
“She just learned to call me mama, starting to look eye to eye with other kids, slowly getting better with planes with a good routine. She knows she needs her floaters before jumping in the water,” she stated.
“It’s fascinating and we believe this works,” Miles added. “Thanks for being you, [Rocket].”
Miles and her husband Troy Montero revealed last April that Rocket had been diagnosed with autism. They stated that they did not immediately reveal it to the public as they were still educating themselves about it. Meanwhile, Rocket is undergoing speech therapy and occupational therapy for her condition. /ra
