Let’s hear it from Shayne Sava and Abdul Raman
Shayne Sava and Abdul Raman are one of the most popular young love teams under the Sparkle GMA Center Artist on GMA Network. Affectionally dubbed as “AbDayne” by their fans and supporters, they have amassed a following due to the fact that both Sava and Raman have known each other and become friends first during their run in the seventh season of Starstruck, wherein Sava was the ultimate female survivor of that said batch from the first talent reality search show in the country to be televised. From then on, their paths have continued to cross on GMA Network, and that tandem has proven to be successful, and a pairing that more people want to see happen simply because they are a natural fit for each other.
And after being able to conduct an exclusive interview with Sava and Raman online a few days ago, I can see that they have a natural fondness for each other. The joy they exude in working with each other, and the camaraderie they exhibit, were palpable to me.
Therefore, I do see why their continued rise to that much sought-after position in ranking among the current young love teams at present on GMA Network is possible.
The newest episode of “Regal Studio Presents” entitled “Dear Prince Charming” starring Sava in her first lead role with her onscreen partner Raman, which is directed by Bobby Bonifacio Jr., will surely entertain, amuse and thrill their fans and followers. It will showcase everything that people have grown to love about them. Plus, this episode is a romantic comedy that is for the whole family to enjoy. Take note: “Regal Studio Presents” is now being shown at its brand new time slot of 11:35 a.m., Sunday, on GMA Network.
Below is my short exclusive interview with the love team.
Article continues after this advertisementWhat can you say differentiates your love team from all other Sparkle GMA Center Artist love teams we have now on GMA Network?
Article continues after this advertisementShayne Sava: It is because I believe that at the end of the spectrum, it is we are different in the needed different ways. And those differences between us are what have balanced us out in other things that needed to be given attention to our onscreen pairing. In a way, it is what truly balances us out. In my case, I am a bit of the quiet type, especially since there are times I can be quite introverted. On the other hand, Abdul is the one who encourages me to socialize more. When it comes to Abdul, I can say he is more extroverted than I am. I am the one who is toning him down also when it comes to that aspect of his personality.
Abdul Raman: I would say it is because our tandem is actually built on teasing. That is our foundation, so for me, I am really a chill and relaxed type of person. So, I would go to different lengths to tease Shayne because I love to see the reaction on her face and her genuine reactions to my teasing. Also, our genuine working relationship is what makes us different from other tandems.
What are your favorite physical and emotional qualities about each other?
Shayne Sava: Physically, I really love his eyes because when you look at his eyes, his lashes are so long. And there is something in his eyes that I can’t explain, but they are so beautiful to me. Sometimes I would tell him, “Let’s trade eyes!” Because he has nice eyes. Second, his dimples, because they are very cute and adorable. Emotional qualities? His wit. His intelligence. I really, really like guys who are intelligent and conversational, and those who are enjoyable to talk to so that I can learn a lot from them. So, there are no dull moments when I’m with him.
Abdul Raman: For me, the physical traits that I really appreciate about Shayne? Lots. A lot! I can’t name a single one. But I would say I like her skin color. Even on camera, you can see it. Shayne is like brown coffee with the right mix. There, I compared Shayne to coffee. Almost mocha I would say. And, I really, really love her eyes because they are very expressive. Her lips. I like the puffy lips of a girl and her lips are very kissable. Emotionally? I love her deep personality, her poetic side which most people don’t see [except] me and the people around her and closest to her. I like the fact that I can talk to her about anything at any time.
Can you share a funny or unforgettable experience while taping this episode entitled “Dear Prince Charming” for “Regal Studio Presents”?
Shayne Sava: We have this scene wherein I will be hitting Abdul with a kangkong. It was during rehearsal, during the camera rehearsals, where they were trying to get the best angle of me hitting him with the kangkong. But then I ended up hitting him when it was still not a take yet to do the shot. Then, they told me, “It was not a take yet!” I told them, “I was carried away by emotions!” It is because the scene was very funny and very cute at the same time. That funny scene can be found in the first part of the episode and once you see it you will really laugh a lot. I found it really funny, because Abdul even told me, “Wait… the sequence is not being shot yet!” His face was also so red because it was hot outside and because he is fair-skinned, his rosy cheeks become obvious. I find him so cute!
Abdul Raman: I would have given the same answer as Shayne, but I remember another one with Mikoy Morales. This is the scene where we are cleaning house then we ended up dancing suddenly. It was funny. At the time, I was not imagining too much the scene, but when we were given a short instruction on what to do, then I and Mikoy Morales discussed how we will approach the sequence in the scene. We turned the scene into something that reminded me of a musical by John Travolta. It was a really fun sequence.
