Nadine Lustre’s fans are abuzz on Twitter as they call for the actress’ “presidency term” to be extended for six years.
Lustre made it to the Twitter trending list today, May 11, after fans clamored for her “presidency” just in time with the counting of votes in the national elections, where Bongbong Marcos is leading. Lustre being dubbed as the internet’s president reportedly started in 2017 as a joke among fans.
“Due to massive vote buying and other election-related anomalies, we hereby extend the presidency of Her Excellency Nadine Lustre,” Palanca-winning author and scriptwriter Jerry Gracio said.

“Pwede po bang si nadine lustre na lang ulit yung president kung ganito lang din?” one @PEACHYDOCYAM asked. (If things will be like this, can we just have Nadine Lustre as our president again?)

While netizens continue to share their witty and funny take on the topic, some have taken a slightly serious tone and mentioned considering Lustre for a public post.
“Kung artista lang naman pala ang gusto niyong politiko, sana tumakbo na lang si nadine lustre. Madaming nagawa para kalikasan at sa mga kababayan niya, may compassion, at di hamak na mas matalino at mas maganda ang credentials. Beauty and brains ika nga,” one @diorpopstar stated.
(If you just want celebrities as politicians, then Nadine Lustre should have ran for office. She has done many things for the environment and for her fellow countrymen. She is compassionate, smarter and has good credentials. As they say, beauty and brains.)

“Kung artista lang din, and a Robin Padilla at that, ang mangunguna sa senado, e ‘di sana tinotoo na lang natin si president Nadine Lustre,” one @HHFlashbacks said, referring to senatorial aspirant former action star Robin Padilla.
(If you just want a celebrity, and a Robin Padilla at that to lead the senate, then we should have really just made Nadine Lustre president.)

Padilla is leading the senatorial race in the first wave of the partial and official count of the Commission on Elections, with over 600,000 votes from seven areas, as of writing.
Meanwhile, Lustre declared support and has been vocal in campaigning for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo. The actress also had a “presidential address” where she explained her endorsement of Robredo. JB
