Bianca Gonzalez stressed the importance of fighting disinformation, as she shared her thoughts on the recent elections.

The “Pinoy Big Brother” host called disinformation the “biggest threat”to Philippine democracy as she encouraged the public to fight it, via her Twitter page today, May 10.

“We need to continue to fight against the biggest threat to our democracy and society: DISINFORMATION,” she told fans. “Di ko alam kung paano, kung gaano katagal at oo, nakakapanghina ng loob, pero kung sama sama tayo, we stand a chance. Kailangan natin labanan para sa mga susunod na henerasyon.”

(I do not know how, I do not know how long and yes, it can be discouraging, but if we are all together, we stand a chance. We need to fight it for the next generation.)

Gonzalez, who has been vocal in supporting Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, also addressed her fellow supporters of the tandem.

“Ang demokrasya. Kaya’t patuloy nating protektahan at pahalagahan ang ating kalayaan na pinaglaban ng mga nauna sa atin. ‘Wag natin balewalain,” she said. “Lahat tayo mahal ang ating bansa, kaya sa abot ng ating makakaya, ipagpatuloy natin ang pagtindig para sa ikabubuti ng isa’t isa.”

(Democracy. So let us continue to protect and value our freedom that our predecessors fought for. Let us not ignore it. We all love our country, so as much as we can, let us continue standing up for the betterment of each other.)

“Isang karangalan na makasama kayo sa pagtindig (It has been an honor to rise up with you),” she added, along with pink flowers, which had been associated with Robredo’s campaign.

As of this writing, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has garnered a total of 30.3 million votes in the partial and unofficial count of election returns, according to the Commission on Elections’ transparency server. His running mate, Davao mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has tallied 30.7 million votes.  /ra
