‘Plastik’?: Bianca Gonzalez defends PBB housemates after face-to-face nominations
Bianca Gonzales came to the defense of “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates who were called “plastic” after the reality TV show had its face-to-face nominations.
The TV host and former PBB contestant said on her Twitter page last Sunday, Dec 12, that she had been seeing remarks from netizens labeling certain housemates as “plastic.”
While not elaborating on the remarks, Gonzalez stressed that nominating a fellow housemate is not easy to do, but is part of the show.
“Every season [na lang], nababasa namin ang ‘plastik!’ comments kapag harapang nominasyon. Please understand na walang gustong mag-nominate pero parte siya ng kompetisyon,” Gonzalez said. “Totoong pamilya ang nasa loob, misunderstanding man, nagmamahalan [nang] tunay.”
(Every season, we read “plastic” comments whenever we have face-to-face nominations. Please understand that no one wants to nominate, but it’s part of the competition. What is inside [the PBB house] is a true family. Even if they may have misunderstandings, they truly love each other.)

Gonzalez also explained how difficult it is to nominate a fellow housemate because of the closeness between contestants inside the PBB house.
“Talagang kahit ano [na lang] sasabihin mo para makapagbigay ng puntos. Notice how they all kept saying ‘sorry’ and ‘love you’ to each other? Hindi ka-plastikan yun, dahil mas matimbang pa rin ang pamilya nila,” she said.
(You’ll really say anything just to give points. Notice how they all kept saying ‘sorry’ and ‘love you’ to each other? That’s not being plastic, because their family stills outweighs [the nominations].)
Given this, Gonzalez wished she had thought of “fair” and “without playing safe” reasons for nominating a fellow housemate when she was part of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 1” back in 2006.
Also please understand na NAPAKAHIRAP mag-nominate. Talagang kahit ano nalang sasabihin mo para makapagbigay ng puntos. Notice how they all kept saying "sorry" and "love you" to each other? Hindi ka-plastikan yun, dahil mas matimbang pa rin ang pamilya nila. #PBB7thNomination

Sa mga tumaas ang kilay: This is not to say I agree with WHO they nominated. This is just saying that through the past weeks, yung reasons nila have been reasons I wish naisip ko nung housemate ako. Kasi again (and again) napakahirap mag-nominate ng kasama. #PBB7thNomination
