Pia Wurtzbach, BF Jeremy Jauncey hold fundraiser supporting local fishermen
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and her boyfriend, entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey, have joined an effort aiming to raise funds and build better boats for local fishermen.
The couple visited the province of Albay for the “Build Back Better Boats” campaign, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The project seeks to provide faster, stronger and more resilient boats for fisherfolk, as per the organization’s Facebook page last Wednesday, May 4.
“As a country frequently hit by typhoons, these boats will ensure that the fishermen won’t lose their means of livelihood and empower the fishing communities to become models of sustainability,” WWF stated.
Given this, Wurtzbach and Jauncey hope to raise P21 million to build 27 steel fiberglass boats for local fisherfolk, as per the fundraiser’s official page.

Wurtzbach and Jauncey have frequently been traveling together and recently went to Switzerland, where they got to see the famous Jet d’Eau. They flew to the Philippines last April 18, marking the first time Jauncey visited the country in four years.
The couple spent their second anniversary apart in December last year. Despite the distance, Jauncey stated that he and Wurtzbach were “together in spirit.” /ra
