Judy Ann Santos recalled a situation where she was ignored and not greeted by a young love team who she did not name.

Santos was speaking about how it is necessary to get along with people in showbiz, in a vlog with fellow actress Meryll Soriano, as seen on Soriano’s YouTube channel yesterday, April 3. Their conversation then led to Santos sharing one of her experiences with a young love team who snubbed her and other older celebrities.

(One of my experiences was with a young love team who are somehow famous — they just passed by me. It is not that you are looking for attention, but there should be respect. There were other artists at the time who were actually older than them. For me, it is not about respect in terms of status; just give respect to artists older than you.)

Soriano, who also had a similar experience, talked about an instance during a taping where she ignored an actor who did not initiate a greeting.

Ayoko ‘yun e.”

(I ignored that actor in several tapings. I really ignored until that person was taught to introduce himself/herself. How could I have known that person is an actor? I just saw that person already included in the scenes, and when I was there, I was just ignored. I don’t like that kind of attitude.)

Santos then reminded young artists to have respect not only towards fellow artists, but also to the production staff who they work with.

(It should be our instinct to greet the people we work with. To the young people, at least show some gratitude that we do this work, we stay in an air-conditioned tent. The salaries of actors are much higher than those of gaffers, staff and crew but yet their work is 10 times harder than what we do.)

“Very privileged ang mga artista sa ginagawa kaya kailangan natin magbigay ng mas malaking respeto sa mga bumubuo ng eksena,” she added. “So I hope kung may magiging artista man sa mga nanonood sa atin ngayon, please remember to value the people around you.”

(Actors are very privileged in what they do, that’s why we need to give huge respect to the people behind the scenes. So I hope that if there are people who are watching this and are aspiring to be actors, please remember to value the people around you.)

Meanwhile, Santos recently stated that she’s not afraid of losing her fame in showbiz, as she believes she already imparted her legacy. She also pointed out that she’s “at peace and comfortable” of where she is in her life now. JB
