Miss Universe PH Baguio candidate tops fashion, runway challenge

Miss Universe Philippines candidate Ghenesis Latugat of Baguio has claimed the top spot in the beauty pageant’s fashion and runway challenge.
The top three contestants in the said challenge were named by the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization on its Instagram page yesterday, March 24.
Chantal Elise Legaspi Schmidt of Cebu City and Angelica Lopez of Palawan completed the top three of the challenge, which highlighted the catwalk skills of the delegates. The top three were chosen based on the combined votes of fans and judges.

For her runway challenge video, Latugat wore a Kalinga and Benguet woven attire by Erjohn Dela Serna, with the Baguio landscape as the backdrop of her runway, as seen on Empire Philippines’ YouTube channel last Tuesday, March 22.
Prior to this, MUPH named Mandaue City’s Isabel Luche, Bohol’s Pauline Amelincx and Taguig City’s Ma. Katrina Llegado as winners in the headshot, introduction and swimsuit challenges, respectively.
MUPH revealed its top 50 candidates last Feb. 28, and is set to “narrow the field” until only 30 delegates remain.
The Miss Universe Philippines coronation will be held in the Mall of Asia Arena on April 30. The new candidates are hoping to inherit the crown of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who ended her journey in the global Miss Universe pageant as part of its top 5. /ra
