Rico Blanco has just ticked another item off his bucket list after his “ultimate dream” to set up a business in La Union became a reality.

The former Rivermaya frontman told fans via his Instagram page on Monday, March 7, about his new marketplace business in San Juan, La Union, which he named Port San Juan. Blanco also showed himself in the empty marketplace while showing sketches of the building.

“LET’S [GO]. Can’t believe I’m now just counting the weeks (days?) ’til my ultimate dream project in Surftown [La Union] @portsanjuan finally opens its doors to the community,” he said.

Blanco expressed excitement over getting Port San Juan up and running since he and his partners have been working on it for “a few years now.”

“[I’m] absolutely thrilled to see our market level looking all set to welcome tenants, partners, friends and guests VERY SOON!” he added. “Matagal ko pinangarap ‘to kaya pagbigyan n’yo na kung biglaang nag-photo shoot na lang ako dito para hindi maiyak.” (I dreamed of this for a long time, so forgive me for suddenly having a photo shoot here so I don’t cry.)

This is not the first time Blanco has ventured into business. Back in 2019, he founded his own record label Balcony Entertainment. Some of the label’s artists are Ebe Dancel, Zild Benitez and Blanco’s girlfriend Maris Racal.

The couple recently starred together in the series “The Goodbye Girl,” alongside Angelica Panganiban, JC de Vera, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte and Barbie Imperial, among others.  /ra
