Arjo Atayde recounts bad acting in first ever scene: ‘Director wanted to send me home’
Arjo Atayde marked his 10th anniversary in showbiz with reminiscences of his first acting experience, such as that of how a director reacted for disliking his performance.
“I remember day (one) as if it was just yesterday… 18 takes on my first ever scene and the director wanted to send me home, [laughing out loud],” the actor said on his Instagram page on Friday, Feb. 18. “But here we are, 10 years later, surprisingly still here and still standing.”
Atayde then expressed his gratitude to those who have been part of his “overwhelming journey,” adding that it has been full of “love, friendship and inspiration.”
“More than the work I have been blessed with, I am grateful that the past 10 years have also blessed me with some of the best friendships and truest relationships I’ve had,” he added. “I am so blessed to get to do what I love and I’m still here for the same reason since day (one)… I just want to act.”

Meanwhile, Ria, his sister, greeted him on his milestone while showing a childhood photo of them pinching each other’s cheeks, via her Instagram page, also on Friday. Ria then thanked him for inspiring and guiding her while referring to herself as Arjo’s “number one fan and OG (original gangster) baby sister.”
