Jake Zyrus went shirtless and showed off his body which has underwent transition, while also opening up on how he freed himself from his insecurities.
Zyrus talked about how the standards and comments of other people used to affect his confidence, as per his Instagram post yesterday, Feb. 19.
(I thought about this carefully before posting it. Because I always think of what other people would say. In the years when I transitioned, I was happy with how my life turned out, but I still get insecure about my body.)
The singer then spoke about how he decided to let go of the worries he had before as he expressed his joy of being able to show his body to the public.
(You may laugh at me or not, but you don’t know the pain, tears and blood that I had to go through to gain confidence to post this. I am happy and I just want to show all of you that this is me. Finally, I’m comfortable with what I see.)
He then stressed that he does not intend to ask for opinions; instead he wants to inspire his fellow transgender people to be proud of themselves.
Para sa ‘yo ‘to,” he added. Lahat ‘yan may tamang panahon.”
(This is for my fellow transgender people. If you’re looking for a sign or confidence to show yourself and be proud of who you are, come on, I will be with you. This is for you. If you’re not yet ready, it’s OK. Everything has its right time.)
Zyrus first came out as a transgender man in 2017. He earlier recalled the pain he experienced with hiding his gender identity, further appealing to the public for respect despite differences in opinions and beliefs. JB
