Jake Ejercito and his daughter Ellie have recovered from their battle with COVID-19, and the actor is grateful that they both only experienced mild symptoms.
In an exclusive interview with Star Magic Inside News last Tuesday, Feb. 8, Ejercito revealed that he and Ellie had contracted COVID-19. Ellie is Ejercito’s child with his ex-girlfriend, actress Andi Eigenmann.
“No one is safe and we were just here isolated for 10 days. Fortunately enough, mild symptoms lang naman (only),” he said.
Ejercito noted that he experienced sore throat and colds while his daughter had a fever for a few days during their isolation period.
“Praise God we’re both okay,” he added.
Ejercito recently went trending on social media after he showed himself donning a shirt supporting presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo on his Twitter page, also last Tuesday. Ellie, meanwhile, can be seen wearing a pink shirt in the photo.
“Para kay Ellie. Para sa bansa,” he said, along with the hashtag “#KulayRosasAngBukas.”

Ejercito is co-parenting Ellie with Eigenmann. They both prioritize their daughter’s welfare and try to “exclude her from all the drama,” he told Philippine Daily Inquirer in 2020. Eigenmann is now engaged to celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo.
Ejercito visited Ellie in Siargao for her 10th birthday last November, where he also bonded with Ellie’s half-sibling Lilo. They then reunited in December 2021 to celebrate the Christmas holidays after Ejercito came home from a month-long lock-in taping. /ra
