Diether Ocampo hurt in crash along Osmeña Highway

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Diether Ocampo was rushed to a hospital after sustaining injuries following a vehicular accident along Osmeña Highway early Friday morning.
Ocampo was riding his SUV when it crashed into a garbage truck along the southbound lane of the service road along Osmeña Highway in Makati City before 1 a.m., a Teleradyo report said.
The garbage truck was temporarily stalled along the side of the highway when the accident happened as collectors gathered trash.
The Philippine Red Cross immediately responded to the scene and brought Ocampo to the hospital.
“Parang nagre-resist siya, parang ayaw magpadala, ayaw siyang magpakuha sa mga Red Cross personnel,” responder Joey Alicante, a member of Bantay Bayan of Barangay Pio del Pilar, said in the Teleradyo report.
(It seemed like he was resisting, he did not want to be brought to the hospital by the Red Cross personnel.)
“Naka-hazard naman ‘yung dump truck. Hindi niya (Ocampo) siguro napansin… Positive po, nakainom,” Alicante said.
(The dump truck was on “hazard”. Maybe he did not notice… Positive, under the influence of alcohol.)
