The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed a cyber libel case against talent manager Annabelle Rama, following film producer Jayke Joson’s cyber libel and cyber-bullying complaint against her last year.

Joson, a former aide of senator and presidential candidate Manny Pacquiao, filed the complaint last October after Rama allegedly accused him of stealing P140 million from the boxing champion. Rama also filed a  cyber libel complaint against Joson in December, after he allegedly called her a “swindler.”

“The NBI formally wrapped up its probe and recommended to file a cyber libel rap against Annabelle Rama in Las Piñas City Prosecutor’s Office,” Joson said in a media statement, as per reports.

Joson said that he pursued the case “to fight a bully and a spreader of fake news.”

“These people who act like trolls like Annabelle Rama are creating fake news to discredit the name of a person for personal gain,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rama’s legal counsel Maggie Abraham said that they have yet to read the details of the case, as they are still waiting for the subpoena.  /ra
