Ben&Ben has postponed their upcoming live performance in Dubai due to COVID-19 cases within the band and their team.
Members of the folk pop band announced the concert’s postponement via a statement on their official Twitter and Instagram pages yesterday, Jan. 25. Ben&Ben was supposed to hold the in-person concert at Jubilee Stage in the United Arab Emirates for Expo 2020 Dubai tomorrow, Jan. 27.
“Hello everyone, especially to our dear Liwanag based in Dubai. After much discussion and consultation, it is with deep regret we announce that we will have to postpone our performance at the Expo Dubai 2020 this January 27, 2022, due to [COVID-19] cases within the band and our team,” the band stated.
Ben&Ben stressed that while their decision to postpone the concert may disappoint some fans, it was made “in the interest of [everyone’s] health.”
They then asked for the public’s understanding as those affected recover from COVID-19. Ben&Ben also assured fans that a new date for the concert will be announced soon.
“We will make our absolute best effort to nurse ourselves back to the best condition possible to provide you with the quality of performance we have been so excited to share with you,” they added. “Thank you so much, Liwanag, for your patience and understanding.”

Prior to announcing their Dubai show, Ben&Ben held their first major concert, “Kuwaderno,” in December last year. The concert was named after their sophomore album “Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno.”
The nine-piece band is known for the hit songs “Araw-Araw,” “Kathang Isip” and “Leaves,” among others.
They bagged the Most Streamed Artist and Record of the Year titles during the 34th Awit Awards last November. They also won Best Inspirational Recording and Best Ballad Recording for “Di Ka Sayang” and “Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay,” respectively. /ra
