Donny Pangilinan has opened up on the status of his relationship with onscreen love team partner Belle Mariano, noting how they are “in a happy place” right now.
Pangilinan gave an indirect but meaningful answer when asked about their relationship, in an interview with broadcaster Karen Davila via her YouTube channel yesterday, Jan. 22.
“Belle and I are in a happy place right now. We’re very grateful for our situation and blessed to be an inspiration to many people, hopefully. More than that, we’re blessed to be having these projects together,” he said.
The actor then went on to describe Mariano and the characteristics he admires about her.
“Belle is herself. Sometimes she just separates herself, she goes what she thinks with, like, her life and doesn’t care about what other people say. I really admire that about her,” he said. “She doesn’t let anyone affect her. She’s very focused.”
Pangilinan then talked about how they handle negative comments from critics, reiterating his previous statement defending Mariano from those judging her physical appearance.
“Well, we’re in showbiz, what can we expect? There’s gonna be voices from everywhere but I always tell her, we tell each other, those voices don’t matter,” he added. “Belle is so talented, she has so much ahead of her and I’m just so happy that I get to witness this journey with her.”
Pangilinan and Mariano, known as the love team DonBelle, starred in the teen romance series “He’s Into Her” and the movie “Love Is Color Blind.” Their fans recently treated them for a surprise, by featuring them in billboards in New York City, Dubai, Korea and other countries, for their love team’s second anniversary.
