Karen Davila expressed gratefulness for the “gift of life” as she is now back to work on “TV Patrol” after her bout with COVID-19.

The Kapamilya broadcaster showed moments from her return to the news program on her Instagram page today, Jan. 15. She was welcomed back by her fellow “TV Patrol” anchors Gretchen Fullido, Alvin Elchico and Bernadette Sembrano.

“And just like that… my first day back to work in the studio! We are back on ‘TV Patrol,'” she said.

Davila then pointed out that she and her colleagues are all survivors of COVID-19. She also noted that she did not know of any family that did not have its own ordeal with the coronavirus.

“Bernadette caught the virus first — early on last year, [Gretchen and] I together over the holidays and Alvin early this year. There is not one family I know who has been spared from [COVID-19] but thank God most of the symptoms are mild,” she told fans.

Davila believes that COVID-19 taught her to make the most of her days, as she thanked God for giving her life and hope.

“We are starting the year grateful for the gift of life. Thank you Lord Jesus and our loving Father in Heaven for being the hope in our lives!” she said. “If there is one thing [COVID-19] has taught all of us, is not to take anyone and any day for granted.”

Davila urged the public to get their COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, not just for them but also for their own families.

Davila revealed last Jan. 7 that she and her family had contracted COVID-19. While her family recovered well, she expressed concern for those who could be suffering as they quarantined at home.

She also stressed the importance of vaccines, after her children David and Lucas received their COVID-19 shots in December last year.  /ra
