Zaijian Jaranilla reveals breakup with non-showbiz girlfriend

Zaijian Jaranilla said that he had recently broken up with his non-showbiz girlfriend, Dian Añes, after about two years together.
The former child actor made this revelation in the virtual media conference for his upcoming TV series “The Broken Marriage Vow,” as seen on ABS-CBN’s YouTube channel last Thursday, Jan. 13. He was asked about his current relationship status and how he avoids cheating, leading him to admit that he is now single.
“Paano ba sasagutin ‘yan? Actually, wala na. Hindi na ako in a relationship,” he answered. (How do I answer that? Actually, not anymore. I’m no longer in a relationship.)
Jaranilla opted not to disclose further details about the breakup when asked if the pandemic affected his relationship with Añes, though he noted that the split happened recently.
“Ang hirap pong sagutin niyan,” he said. “Nito lang po, siguro wala pang buwan.” (That’s hard to answer. Just recently, maybe less than a month.)
Despite having broken up, Jaranilla still has a photo with Añes on his Instagram page as of this writing. He posted the photo when he greeted Añes on her 18th birthday in February last year.

Jaranilla confirmed he was in a relationship in an interview with Boy Abunda for “Tonight with Boy Abunda” in January 2020. At the time, he said he and his girlfriend had been together for a few months. Jaranilla also admitted that his career in show business had been a source of arguments between them, but that they managed to talk about such issues.
Aside from “The Broken Marriage Vow,” Jaranilla is also set to star in the upcoming “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series,” alongside Jane de Leon, Joshua Garcia and Iza Calzado. /ra
