Katarina Rodriguez asks public: Don’t donate dirty underwear, damaged clothes to typhoon victims
Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez has called on the public to avoid donating unwearable clothes or underwear to victims of typhoon Odette.
The beauty queen, who is supporting various fundraisers and donation drives for Odette victims in Siargao, talked about encountering clothing donations that had holes and stains on them in a series of Instagram Stories yesterday, Jan. 4.
“Don’t donate clothes you won’t even wear. Hindi naman dahil walang wala na sila ay deserve nila ang basura ng mga tao (Just because they don’t have anything does not mean they deserve the trash of other people),” Rodriguez said.
“Sorry pero ‘yung ibang nakuha namin na donation, sobrang dumi at butas-butas na (Sorry but some of the donations we received were so dirty or had many holes in them). If there are holes in your clothes, do not donate them,” she added.
Rodriguez also discouraged the public from donating dirty underwear, but instead “essential” and “appropriate” clothes.
