Vice Ganda and fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts will be giving a day’s-worth of their talent fees to aid the victims of super typhoon Odette in the regions of Visayas and Mindanao.

Vice Ganda urged the public to extend help to those affected by the recent calamity, especially now that the holidays are approaching, as seen on It’s Showtime’s Facebook page yesterday, Dec. 21.

“Habang tayo’y nagkakasiyahan — alam kong marami tayong ginagawa, marami na tayong naplano — pero as our lives go on, ‘wag nating kalimutan na may mga nangangailangan na mga kapamilya natin ng tulong, mga nabiktima ng bagyong Odette,” he said.

“While we’re having fun — I know we have a lot to do, we have so many plans —but as our lives go on, may we not forget that there are people who need our help, those affected by super typhoon Odette.)

The comedian-TV host initiated the donation drive among co-hosts by saying that he will be giving his talent fee for the day to ABS-CBN Foundation, which organizes relief efforts for the victims. Kim Chiu, Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, among others, then pledged to do the same.

“Patuloy ang pagdarasal natin para sa ating mga kapamilya. Kaya po natin ‘ to. Babangon tayong muli, at magsasama-samang muli,” Perez added.

(We continuously pray for our families. We can do this. We’ll rise up and be together again.)

Super typhoon Odette hit the country last Thursday, Dec. 16, leaving at least 156 confirmed deaths and 37 still missing, as of writing. JB
