Andi Eigenmann, Philmar Alipayo will donate vlog earnings to help rebuild Odette-stricken Siargao
Andi Eigenmann and her fiancé, celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo, have promised to donate the earnings of their family’s YouTube vlog “Happy Islanders” to help rebuild their home island Siargao after it was hit by super typhoon Odette.
The couple, who is currently staying in Makati, told fans about their intention to donate via their YouTube vlog yesterday, Dec. 19. The actress recently went to a friend’s wedding in Batangas with her children but their flight going back to Siargao was cancelled due to the super typhoon.
The vlog episode is about the 10th birthday of Eigenmann’s daughter Ellie, though it contained a message from the couple.
“On Dec. 16, 2021, typhoon Odette hit Siargao Island (and other neighboring islands and provinces) and devastated our island home. We are grateful that our family and friends are safe but most of them have lost their homes and are in need of food, water, among others,” they explained. “With this, we will be using our earnings from our coming videos to help slowly rebuild our island home again.”
Eigenmann and Alipayo earlier asked for prayers when the typhoon first made landfall in Siargao last Thursday, Dec. 16. Eigenmann also showed the devastation on the island, on a road that apparently leads to where her family lives.

Super typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) devastated the regions of Visayas and Mindanao over the past few days. At least 208 people have died because of the typhoon while about 52 are still missing, as of writing. JB
