Andi Eigenmann and her fiance, celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo, asked for prayers as typhoon Odette made its landfall on their home island Siargao.

The actress, who is currently staying with her family in Makati, expressed her concern for their Siargao-based loved ones in a series of Instagram Stories today, Dec. 16.

Eigenmann felt worried for the locals  who may be left with no food or houses after the typhoon.

“You can sit around in your hotels, just waiting for the sun to get back out to go on with your itineraries or fly back to your comfortable homes. But when this passes, a lot of the locals may have no food, no homes to go home to,” she said. “These people are our loved ones. We may not be there but our hearts are and all we want is to be able to get home as soonest we can and help.”

Meanwhile, Alipayo told fans that there was no more phone signal on Siargao as he asked for prayers on his Instagram Story, also today.

“No more signal sa isla (on the island). Please pray for my island home Siargao,” he asked the public.

The surfer then shared a video showing strong and high waves hitting a beach in Siargao even though it was still low tide.
