Kris Aquino and fellow actress, Angel Locsin, have worked together to give aid to those affected by super typhoon Odette in Mindanao.

Aquino, who is currently on a vacation with her fiancé Mel Sarmiento, stressed that she did not forget about the victims of the typhoon while showing the rain outside her room on her Instagram page yesterday, Dec. 19.

“Ayoko pong isipin ninyo na dedma ako sa pinagdadaanan ng mga kapwa nating Pilipino dahil sa napakalakas at bagsik ng bagyong Odette. Hindi na po ako magdedetalye pero non-stop ang communication ko sa mga kaibigan kung paano makakatulong,” she said, noting that she has a friend in Mindanao who will distribute her donations.

(I don’t want you to think that I am ignoring what my fellow Filipinos went through because of the strong and violent typhoon Odette. I won’t go into detail but I am on non-stop communication with friends on how I may help.)

Aquino then added that she has been working with Locsin in initiatives to assist people affected by calamities, even in the past.

“Matagal na kaming tandem ni [Angel Locsin] ‘pag ganitong may kalamidad at araw-araw kaming nag-uusap kung paano ba makakatulong,” she told fans. (Me and Angel Locsin have been a tandem for a long time whenever there’s a calamity and we talk every day about how to help.)

The actress-TV host commended presidential candidates Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Vice President Leni Robredo for working together amid the crisis. Aquino also urged the public to not lose hope despite hardships.

“Sana ‘wag tayong mawalan ng pag-asa dahil pabangon pa lang, knock out na naman. Bawal ang sumuko dahil hindi tayo pababayaan ng magbi-birthday sa Dec. 25,” she said.

(I hope we don’t lose hope because we were just about to get up but we’re knocked out again. We can’t give up because the one who will celebrate his birthday on Dec. 25 will not forsake us.)
