Beatrice Luigi Gomez makes it to Miss Universe top 16

Miss Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez is still in the running to become the next Miss Universe in the pageant being held today, Dec. 13.
Gomez made it further into the contest after impressing judges in the preliminary competition.
The candidates who also made it to the top 16 were:

Venezuela

Gomez is hoping to win the fifth crown for the Philippines, following Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray.
Gomez, who hails from Cebu City, made history in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant last September after being crowned the first member of the LGBTQ+ community to be given the local title. JB
