Gomez also received well wishes from Miss Universe Philippines first runner-up Maureen Wroblewitz and Miss Universe Philippines Charity Victoria Vincent.

Gomez was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 last September, making history as the first openly gay woman to win the competition. Her win in the local pageant qualified her to compete in Miss Universe this December.

She succeeded Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, who finished top 21 in the 69th Miss Universe pageant in May this year. JB
