Paulo Avelino reveals he used to date Janine Gutierrez
Paulo Avelino recalled a time when he and his “Marry Me, Marry You” co-star Janine Gutierrez could have been more than just friends and actually went out on dates.
The actor made this revelation during a virtual media conference for the TV series “Marry Me, Marry You,” on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel yesterday, Nov. 11. Avelino was asked if he would ever consider dating Gutierrez if they were both single. Gutierrez is in a relationship with actor Rayver Cruz.
“Alam ko itatanggi na naman ako ni Janine. Lumabas na kami dati, hindi lang natuloy,” Avelino said. “Kung mangyayari ngayong pagkakataon na ito na single siya at single ako, then okay.”
(I know Janine will deny me again. We went out before, it just didn’t go on. If it happens that [in case] she’s single and I’m single, then okay.)
When asked if what Avelino said is true, Gutierrez told her co-star that she never denied going out with him.

“Sinabi ko nag-date kami ni Janine dati tapos sabi niya, ‘Hindi ah, nag-hang out lang tayo.’ So parang nasaktan ako kasi hang out lang pala yung dalawang beses tayo lumabas,” he narrated.
(I said before that Janine and I went on a date and she said, “No, we just hung out.” So I sort of felt hurt because [for her] we just hung out the two times we went out.)
Aside from his past dates with Gutierrez, Avelino also talked about their pairing and the support it received since “Marry Me, Marry You” started airing. He expressed gratefulness for the fans who are showing him that the chemistry between him and Gutierrez is “working.”
“Marry Me, Marry You” is a romantic comedy series starring Avelino, Gutierrez, Jake Ejercito, Sunshine Dizon and Cherry Pie Picache among others. It is set to enter its second season on Nov. 15. JB
