John Lloyd Cruz is set to star in his first GMA sitcom after he officially became a Kapuso and marked his return to show biz following years of being away from the limelight.

Cruz is set to star in the sitcom “Happy Together” with Miles Ocampo, Jayson Gainza, Carmi Martin and Janus del Prado, as stated on Martin’s Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 9. They can all be seen in a Zoom meeting with director Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz.

“Happy to belong to a new sitcom entitled ‘Happy Together’ with John Lloyd Cruz, Miles Ocampo, Janus del Prado and others,” Martin said. The actress did not give further details regarding the sitcom, though she stated it will be “coming soon.”

Cruz last starred in a lead role for a film in the 2017 romantic comedy “Finally Found Someone.” Later that year, he announced that he would be taking a hiatus from show biz “to attend to personal matters.”

It was around this time that he and actress Ellen Adarna were in a relationship and later welcomed their son, Elias. The two have since separated but agreed to co-parent.

Cruz made his return to television last June at an event for a shopping app with TV host Willie Revillame. He was then officially welcomed to GMA Network yesterday, Nov. 9.

The actor joined Maja Salvador’s talent agency Crown Artist Management last May. He was handled by ABS-CBN for most of his career.  /ra
