While heartbreak may be a difficult experience, Julia Barretto believes lost love only makes people stronger and the pain it causes brings something good to them.

The actress advised those who may be losing their faith in love in a virtual media conference for the TV5 series “Di Na Muli,” as seen on Vivamax’s YouTube channel today, Oct. 13. Barretto, along with other cast members of the show, were asked if it is right to still believe in love despite experiencing several heartbreaks.

“Ang sarap kayang mawasak ang puso. Masarap siya kasi alam mong tumitibay ka. Masarap ‘yung pain na ‘yon kasi alam mo sooner or later ma-oovercome mo siya,” Barretto said.

(Getting your heart broken feels good. It feels good because you know you’re getting stronger. The pain is good since you know that sooner or later you will overcome it.)

For her, dealing with lost love will pay off in the future once a person has managed the pain that comes with a broken heart.

“Huwag kang mawawalan ng pag-asa kasi kapag binuksan mo ‘yung pintuan na iba, it’s a whole new world,” she added. (Don’t lose hope because if you open other doors, it’s a whole new world.)

Barretto also pointed out that those who go through heartbreak will also go through moving on and having new experiences with love.

“Ang sarap mag-move forward, ang sarap mag-move on. Ang sarap magkaroon ng experience ng pagmamahal na magugulat ka na [lang]. Wag kang mawawalan ng pag-asa,” the actress said.

(It feels great to move forward, to move on. It’s good to have experiences with love that surprise you. Don’t lose hope.)

Barretto is currently in a relationship with Gerald Anderson. The actor confirmed they are together through a tell-all interview with TV host Boy Abunda last March.

“Di Na Muli” stars Barretto with Marco Gumabao and Marco Gallo. It follows the story of Yana (Barretto), who has the ability to know the lifespan of another person once she touches their hands. The show premiered last Sept. 18.  /ra
