All seven members of the K-pop boy group BTS have received diplomatic passports from South Korean President Moon Jae-in for their new role as special presidential envoys.
The group met with Moon for their appointment ceremony in the head of state’s official residence in Seoul, as per a release by the Korean Blue House via AllKpop today, Sept. 14. All BTS members were appointed Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generation & Culture.
Given their new role, Moon gave BTS envoy certificates, Blue House fountain pens and diplomatic passports, which they all proudly showed on their official Twitter page today, Sept. 14.

The K-pop stars are set to accompany Moon on his diplomatic trip to the United States from Sept. 19 to 23. They are scheduled to attend the 76th United Nations General Assembly as honorary speakers, to deliver a speech for the youth around the world.
BTS will also perform during the United Nations event “SDG Moment 2021,” which will be held on Sept. 20.
